Terms & conditions

These terms apply to the use of ybid.nl, to membership of the Young BID community, and to taking part in our events.

Last updated: 18 September 2026

1. Who we are

Young BID is an initiative of Big Improvement Days B.V., registered at Bankaplein 2, 2585 EV The Hague. Where these terms say “we” or “Young BID”, they mean Big Improvement Days B.V.

2. What these terms apply to

These terms apply as soon as you use the website, apply for membership, or take part in a Young BID activity.

Individual events may carry additional terms. We publish those in advance; where they conflict, the event terms prevail.

3. Membership and admission

You can apply through the form on the website. Applying does not entitle you to admission: Young BID is a curated community and we decide who joins.

Membership is personal and not transferable. You provide accurate and complete information when you apply.

You must be at least sixteen to apply. If you are under sixteen, apply only with the consent of a parent or guardian.

Membership is free of charge at this time. Should that change, we will say so well in advance, and a new price will never apply retroactively.

You can end your membership at any time by telling us. We may end a membership if you breach these terms, in the event of misconduct during activities, or if your details turn out to be untrue.

4. What we offer

We organise events, connect members with each other and with the network around Big Improvement Day, and share stories and programme information.

We commit to the effort, not to a particular result: no job, no investment, no specific introduction and no guaranteed place at a given event. Programmes, speakers, dates and venues may change.

5. Conduct in the community

Young BID only works if people feel safe and taken seriously. We therefore expect you to:

— Treat other participants with respect

— Refrain from discriminatory, intimidating or threatening behaviour

— Keep confidential what is shared with you in confidence

— Not use other members' contact details for unsolicited commercial approaches

If you breach this, we may refuse you access to activities or end your membership.

6. Events

Registering for an event does not automatically grant access; where capacity is limited, we make a selection.

If you cannot attend, cancel in good time so your place can go to someone else.

We may move, change or cancel an event. If a paid event does not go ahead, we refund the registration fee. We do not reimburse travel or accommodation costs.

We take photographs and video at events for our own communications. If you would rather not appear in them, tell the organisers on site and we will take that into account.

7. Intellectual property

All text, imagery, design and the Young BID brand belong to Big Improvement Days B.V. or to the respective rights holder.

You may view the content of this site and share it by linking to it. Reproducing or using it commercially requires our written permission.

Articles from BID Magazine shown on this site remain the property of Big Improvement Day; we link to the original publication.

8. Liability

We compile the information on this site with care, but cannot guarantee that it is always complete, current and correct.

We are not liable for damage arising from use of the site, from taking part in activities, or from contacts made through Young BID, except in the case of intent or deliberate recklessness on our part.

This site contains links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content.

9. Availability of the website

We do our best to keep the site available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may take it offline for maintenance, or change or remove parts of it.

10. Privacy

How we handle your personal data is set out in our privacy statement, and the cookies we place are listed in our cookie statement. Both form part of these terms.

11. Changes

We may amend these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. For material changes we inform members by email; if you use the site or take part in an activity afterwards, the new terms apply.

12. Governing law

Dutch law applies to these terms. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in The Hague, unless the law mandates a different court.

If you have a complaint, contact us first. We would rather resolve it together.
